MetroLEC deployed resources to the residence including a motorized robot and drone. Further attempts by MetroLEC personnel to contact the subject were also unsuccessful. Out of an abundance of caution, neighboring housing units were evacuated and a “shelter in place” emergency alert was broadcast. At approximately 10:30 pm, the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC) was called to assist the MPD. Upon arrival, MPD officers attempted to contact the subject but, after several attempts, were unsuccessful. The Mansfield Police were dispatched to Erick Road at approximately 8:27 pm. On Sunday, June 4, 2023, the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center (SEMRECC) received a 911 call asking for police to conduct a well-being check at a residence on Erick Road. Their information is being withheld pending arraignment in Attleboro District Court later today. During the course of the investigation on June 5, 2023, two adult males were taken into custody on various drug offenses. In coordination with detectives from the Massachusetts State Police Illegal Tobacco Task Force, the Department of Revenue, and the Massachusetts Lottery Commission, Mansfield Detectives developed probable cause that the store was selling flavored tobacco products, THC vapes, edibles, and marijuana to juveniles and adult customers without being licensed.Ĭriminal charges against several individuals are pending in Attleboro District Court for drug-related and financial offenses. The investigation initiated following numerous complaints from the public concerned for juveniles purchasing illegal substances from the store. On Monday afternoon, June 5, 2023, Mansfield Police Detectives executed a search warrant at Mansfield Convenience, 214 Rumford Ave., as part of a months-long investigation.
